Zu unseren Fokusbereichen in der Forschung z\u00e4hlen insbesondere Atemwege, Immunologie, Infektionskrankheiten, Diabetes und Endokrinologie, Krebserkrankungen, Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen, Neurologische Erkrankungen und die Entwicklung von Impfstoffen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Insgesamt 72.000 Besch\u00e4ftigte (2023) in \u00fcber 140 L\u00e4ndern, davon 950 in \u00d6sterreich, arbeiten bei MSD daran, gesundheitliche Herausforderungen mit medizinischen Innovationen zu l\u00f6sen. Davon sind knapp 21.800 Personen direkt in der Forschung und Entwicklung besch\u00e4ftigt. Im Jahr 2023 verzeichnen wir \u00fcber 100.000 Patient:innen, die Teil unserer klinischen Studien an mehr als 21.000 Standorten weltweit waren. Au\u00dferdem flossen 2023 30,5 Mrd. Mit der Forschung und Entwicklung neuer und innovativer Arzneimittel und Impfstoffe wollen wir mithelfen, die Gesundheitsprobleme der Welt zu l\u00f6sen.  Seit \u00fcber 20 Jahren engagiert sich MSD beispielsweise f\u00fcr die Forschung und Entwicklung\u00a0 von HPV-Impfstoffen. Bereits mehr als 500 Millionen Impfungen konnten weltweit durchgef\u00fchrt werden. Auch forschen wir weiterhin an neuen Pneumokokken-Impfstoffen f\u00fcr Kinder und Erwachsene, nachdem der erste Impfstoff in den 1970er Jahren von MSD genehmigt wurde.  Global und auch in \u00d6sterreich legen wir einen besonderen Fokus auf das Gebiet der Onkologie. In \u00d6sterreich erkranken rund 45.000 Menschen\u00a0 j\u00e4hrlich neu an Krebs. Um dieser Krankheit bestm\u00f6glich Einhalt zu gebieten, werden derzeit \u00fcber 2.250 klinische Studien weltweit mit Krebsmedikamenten von MSD durchgef\u00fchrt. 46 Indikationen konnten bereits f\u00fcr 22 Tumorarten zugelassen werden. Durch Forschung ist es uns au\u00dferdem m\u00f6glich wichtige Daten zu sammeln, welche die Sicherheit und Wirksamkeit unserer Produkte belegen.  Mit einer Gesamtzahl von 37 klinischen Studien in ungef\u00e4hr 85 Studienzentren im Jahr 2023 z\u00e4hlen wir zu den absoluten Spitzenreitern in der \u00f6sterreichischen Forschung. Die Studien waren vor allem auch in den Bereichen Onkologie, HIV, COPD-PH, NASH und Herzinsuffizient vertreten.<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n\n    <div Wir sind davon \u00fcberzeugt, dass die in der t\u00e4glichen klinischen Praxis gewonnenen Daten eine wichtige Erg\u00e4nzung zu unserem strengen klinischen Studienprogramm darstellen.
